Garage sales are great things. In these difficult economic times, you can save quite a bit of money picking up useful and interesting items from retro toasters to inexpensive DVD movies. Some things such as flower pots and old books can be found for incredibly low prices. If you’re looking to save some money and make some interesting finds, garage sales are the place.
When is the best time to go garage sale hunting? That depends. January can be good in some locations as people are getting rid of excess items, even sometimes new unwanted Christmas presents. However, this is only good in the warmer southern climates. In the northern regions, when snow covers the ground in winter, spring is the best time. When the days grow longer and warmer, people do their spring cleaning, ending up with piles of unwanted items. Summer is often too hot and people are on vacations, so the months of March, April and May are often busy with garage sales.
